Cultural Trail of the Vögte I + II (2016 - 2022)

Between 2016 and 2020, 11 partners from the Czech Republic, Saxony and Thuringia pursued the goal of connecting the cross-border cultural region of Vogtland/Egerland by drawing on the shared cultural and historical tradition dating back to the time of the Vögte and opening it up to (cultural) tourism. A trilingual cultural tourism guide "Kulturweg der Vögte" (https://www.schnell-und-steiner.de/artikel_10222.ahtml), which describes over 180 historical objects and places them in a historical and touristic context, was created with the help of Prof Fasbender from Chemnitz University of Technology. Corresponding trilingual folders (81) based on this book are available at the objects on the cultural trail and in the two information and meeting centres at Seeberg Castle (Czech Republic) and Mylau Castle (Germany).

The Vogtland Tourism Association also provides virtual access to the cultural trail (https://www.vogtland-tourismus.de/de/p/kulturweg-der-voegte/38723816/).  The other partners in the project, which received almost €1.8 million in EU funding via the Free State of Saxony - Czech Republic 2014-2020 cooperation programme, were the cities of Aš, Cheb and Františkovy Lázně. In addition to euregio egrensis SN/TH, the cities of Greiz, Plauen and Weida as well as Oelsnitzer Kultur GmbH were involved on the German side.
