Accessibility
- The museum is not completely barrier-free, as it is housed in a medieval castle with various staircases and passageways.
- Part of the museum can be accessed by wheelchair users and people with severe walking difficulties using a stair caterpillar.
- Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available in the castle (not in the museum!).
- Two disabled parking spaces are provided directly at the castle (on the left in front of the castle gate).
Offers of assistance
If you need help or support or would like to use the stair caterpillar, please let us know in advance. We can then prepare and accompany your visit.
Please also register if you are visually or hearing impaired so that we can organise various offers of assistance.
Car parks
There are NO parking facilities directly at the castle or in front of the castle gate.
Please use the car parks at the foot of the castle (market, at the church, Burgstraße, Friedenshain).
Approach
If you are travelling by train, get off at Reichenbach 'Oberer Bahnhof'. You will find bus stops directly in front of the station building. You can find timetable information here!
If you are travelling by car via the A72 motorway, we recommend taking the 'Reichenbach' exit and continuing on the B94 towards 'Greiz/Auerbach/Rodewisch'.
The best way to reach the Museum Burg Mylau from all other directions is via the B173 in the direction of 'Reichenbach'. From Reichenbach, take the 'Zwickauer Straße/B173' in a south-westerly direction towards 'Hermann-Dindas-Straße'. Turn left onto 'Greizer Straße/B173/B94' and follow the road until you reach 'Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße/B173'. Turn left again and after approx. 1 kilometre you will reach 'Reichenbacher Straße'. After just under half a kilometre, turn left onto 'Hainstraße'. Follow this road until you reach the 'Friedenshain' junction. Now you are at the foot of the castle hill and can see Mylau Castle with the museum on your right.
