Mylau Castle Museum

Museum presentation of the collection

Behind the scenes, the museum houses an almost endless collection of historical artefacts. Some of them are presented to all visitors in the permanent exhibition. The themes are explored in greater depth in ever-changing special exhibitions, but the museum also offers space to artists from the region in special exhibitions.

The current permanent exhibition presents topics from the history of the castle and town as well as from the collection of the two natural history societies. Themes include the castle, town and regional history, the Reformation, the Göltzschtal Bridge, bourgeois and aristocratic living and working, and historical natural history. The castle and the historical rooms from the end of the 19th century are also important exhibits.
