Mylau Castle is one of the most impressive medieval castle complexes in Saxony. Once a seat of nobility in the Middle Ages and early modern times, most recently with bourgeois owners, the castle has been transformed into a factory, a town hall with a castle tavern and a museum.
Mylau Castle Museum is characterised by the early preservation of historical monuments and castle romanticism. The collections, originally assembled by natural history societies, were later supplemented by artefacts collected by the nobility and contemporary art from the region.
You can rent various rooms at Mylau Castle. The historic castle chapel is suitable for small weddings with up to 10 guests as a stylish setting for your ceremony. For larger parties, the historic council chamber can be booked for celebrations.
If you would like to organise a lecture, training course, presentation or concert at the castle - that is also possible! Please contact the museum staff if you are planning your event.
Various projects have already been carried out in recent years, such as the historical-archaeological collection, the graphics collection, the ethnographic collection, the Ziel 3 project, the industrial culture of Mylau and the special exhibition "Spindles, looms and visions".
Culture cannot exist without support. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and network partners for their support. Without these grants, our work would be impossible. Donations are also a great help to us.
